Prices for your German tax return and Kindergeld
Geldback has fixed prices for your German tax return and Kindergeld forms. You pay once, and the money from the authorities goes straight to you, with no commission.
Three prices, nothing hidden
You choose what you need. The price does not depend on how much money you get back.
| Package | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Tax return | 49 € first year, 29 € each extra year | German tax return for one or more of the years 2022 to 2025 |
| Kindergeld | 59 € | Kindergeld application for your children living abroad |
| Tax return and Kindergeld | 89 € (29 € each extra tax year) | One tax year plus Kindergeld, 19 € less than buying both alone |
Examples
These are the full prices. There is no extra fee when the money arrives.
- Tax return for 2025 only: 49 €.
- Tax returns for 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025: 49 € + 3 × 29 € = 136 €.
- Kindergeld for two children: 59 €. The price is the same for one child or several.
- Kindergeld and tax returns for 2024 and 2025: 89 € + 29 € = 118 €.
What is included
Every package includes the same help from start to finish:
- Simple questions on your phone, in Romanian, Bulgarian, Polish or English.
- The official German forms, filled in from your answers.
- An automatic check for common mistakes and missing details.
- A list of the documents you need to add.
- The right address: your Finanzamt or your Familienkasse.
- Clear steps for signing and posting the forms.
What is not included
Geldback is software. It is important that you know what it does not do.
- No personal tax advice. Geldback is not a tax adviser and does not tell you what to do in your own case.
- No sending for you. You sign the forms by hand and post them yourself.
- No contact with the authorities in your name. Geldback is not connected to the Finanzamt or the Familienkasse.
- No handling of your money. The refund and the Kindergeld go straight into your own bank account.
Geldback prices compared with agencies
Agencies that help with German tax refunds and Kindergeld usually take 14 to 20 % of the money you get. The more you get back, the more you pay them.
Geldback has a fixed price. The money you get back stays yours.
| Refund | Agency at 14 to 20 % | Geldback, one tax year |
|---|---|---|
| 500 € | 70 to 100 € | 49 € |
| 1,000 € | 140 to 200 € | 49 € |
| 2,000 € | 280 to 400 € | 49 € |
You see your estimate before you pay
First you answer a few short questions in the calculator. It shows you an estimate of what you can get back. Only then do you decide if you want to pay. If the estimate shows there is nothing to get back, you do not pay anything.
The estimate is not a promise. The Finanzamt and the Familienkasse decide the final amount, and it can be higher or lower.
How you pay
You pay Geldback once, when you choose a package. Your refund and your Kindergeld are paid by the German authorities directly to your bank account. Geldback never receives them, so nothing can be taken from them.
Questions and answers
Do you take a percentage of my refund?
No. You pay a fixed price. The full refund and all the Kindergeld go to you.
Is the Kindergeld price per child?
No. 59 € covers the application for all your children, with one Anlage Kind for each child.
Why is every extra tax year cheaper?
Most of your answers are the same for each year, so the extra years take less work. Each extra year costs 29 €.
Are there costs I should know about?
You pay for printing and postage yourself. If you file together with a spouse who lives abroad, you also need a certificate stamped by your home tax office, which can mean a visit there.
